Hello all.

Welcome to the "Doors Open" edition.  We are all set.  The church and gardens look beautiful; our guides and greeters are working on their best smiles; the music and liturgy are set; and the cafe baking is piling up in our freezer.  Let's look forward to a great weekend. I keep thinking of the muppet theme: "It's time to put on makeup, it's time to dress up right." (that will now be running through your head all weekend)  It isn't just for visitors though, come and explore your own church.  Learn more about its history and artefacts, enjoy the music and the experience of two different services in the Anglican tradition and have a coffee or tea and a something in the "Cellar Cafe".  Above all, bring a guest.  Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to make this event a success. Our newly promoted Junior Manager has even volunteered to encourage donations.  Say no to that face, I dare you.  Also please take note of other upcoming events.

Baking For Doors Open London.  Do you like to bake? Great because we need baking!!!  If you have been creating for the Cellar Cafe you can drop it off at the church either Friday evening between 5:00 and 7:00 pm or Saturday morning after 9:30 am.

If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask me!  Nancy Haley.

St. Martin's Brunchers Are  Gathering Again.  Building on the success of the first event Martin’s “Brunchers” are scheduled to meet on Tuesday, September 23 at 10:00 a.m.. The location will be Morning Bites at the corner of Wonderland Rd. and Aldersbrook Rd. (one block south of Fanshawe Park Rd. West, on the west side of Wonderland Rd. Please let Larry and Janice Chisholm (lchisholm@rogers.com or 519-657-5279) know by noon on Sunday, September 21 if you are planning to attend.

Parking Around St. Martin's.  Municipal enforcement officers have recently been patrolling Pinetree Drive, mostly by the cul-de-sac near Riverside Public School, and ticketing vehicles that are parked illegally. This is a gentle reminder to double-check the signage where you park to avoid being fined, including designated accessible spots in St. Martin's parking lot. Please contact Rev. Sarah if you have any questions or concerns about parking.

St. Martin's, Our History and Our Artifacts.   Come and look around this weekend

The Chancel Guild is looking to recruit new members.  If you are interested, please see Marie or Rev'd Sarah.

St. Paul's Social Services -Thank you for your continued generosity.  This item never goes away because hunger never goes away.  I will be making a trip to the food bank next week.  St. Paul's Social Services is an outreach program, a part of which is the St. Paul's Food Bank.  Your generous donations help support it.   Look for the bin in the cloakroom marked "St. Paul's Food Bank".  Food of all descriptions should be the first priority.   Please give what you can.    In addition to food, toiletries, especially in small sizes are always useful. Monetary donations are also well received as it lets them buy items which are needed but not always donated or they buy in bulk.  Like everyone else they are being hit by the rising price of food.  Please make cheques payable to St. Paul's Social Services.  Tax receipts will be issued directly by St. Paul's Social Services.  For the moment please do not donate containers as they are in discussions with the local Health Inspectors on their use.

We Are Collecting Egg Cartons.  Annele Robertson has a friend who can use egg cartons for......eggs!  Drop them off in the cloakroom and Annele will pick them up.

Milk Bag Collection is Back.  The ladies are back to making mats.  Please bring in your milk bags and put them in the marked box in the Cloakroom

Email Address  Please check that you have our correct email address in your contacts.  It is stmartinslondon@diohuron.org .  The old email address is no longer supported, and we will be losing access to it soon.  Also, if you change your email address, please let us know so we can update our records.
