Hello all.

So how are you making out with the four seasons all in one day?  Not sure it is exactly what Vivaldi had in mind.  I have a confession to make to all of you expert gardeners, I raked the front lawn this week.  I know it's heresy, but I couldn't see a time coming when the ground would be dry and the temperature would be above freezing at the same time.  I can promise you however, spring will be here by the end of April because that's when I get the camper trailer out of storage.  This sets off a sequence of events, which I will bore you with some other time.

Thank you to everyone who was able to stay after the service on Sunday for the Town Hall.  Thank you also to Lisa Bogue for her original approach to idea gathering.  It might be described as the John Steinbeck method.  He spoke of "Mice and Men" as did Lisa and both stories tended to stay with you.  Some good ideas were generated at the conclusion of the meeting.  One of those good ideas was patience, which is something I'm not always known for.  It will take a little time to bring together all the ideas into a cohesive plan with a consistent message but not everything has to wait.  If you have an idea for a project speak to a Warden or Reverend Sarah and let’s get moving.

Parish Council Meeting.  The next meeting of Parish Council will be held Monday 20 April at 7:00 pm in Rowland Hall.

The Cloak of Kindness Squad is celebrating Eastertide on Monday, April 27 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. This month at kids' church we're inviting children to experience the 50 days of Easter in a meaningful, age-appropriate way. Through prayer, storytelling, and creative group activities, children will learn what Easter is about and why it matters.

This is a free program for kids ages 4 to 12. Please let us know if you can make it! Registration is required.

Choral Evensong for Trinity Sunday will be held on Sunday, May 31 at 4:00 pm. Join us for this reflective service in the tradition of the Book of Common Prayer. Evensong weaves together choral singing, Scripture, and spoken prayer in a way that creates space to hear and respond to God's Word.

Trinity Sunday is a day in the Christian calendar that celebrates the mystery of God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Reflect on the sacred mystery of the Triune God in this service of prayer. Whether you are curious, questioning, or committed, you are warmly welcome.

Some Meditation Might Be A Good Thing  Nancy Haley, our Lay Reader has been participating for some time in a Christian Meditation series provided on-line via zoom by the Cathedral Church of All Saints Halifax, Nova Scotia.  Each evening features a brief teaching on an aspect of this ancient way of prayer, followed by a time of practice; each session lasts about 45 minutes.  The next weekly 8-part series begins on-line  Thursday, April 23rd, 5:30 pm Eastern Time.  It's free but you'll need to register at prayasyoucan3@gmail.com  Put "Christian Meditation" in the subject line.  Questions?  Speak to Nancy.

St. Martin's, Our History and Our Artifacts.    You may notice Mr. Lupton playing a little more softly over the next few weeks with more Brahms than Bach.  We now have a Robin-in-Residence and she is definitely not a fan of classic organ music.  We shall keep you updated as reliable reports suggest there are now eggs in the nest.

St. Paul's Social Services -Thank you for your generous donations.   This news item never goes away because hunger never goes away.  St. Paul's Social Service is an outreach program, a part of which is the St. Paul's Food Bank.  Your generous donations help support it.   Look for the bin in the cloakroom marked "St. Paul's Food Bank".  Non-perishable food of all descriptions should be the first priority.   Please give what you can.    In addition to food, toiletries, especially in small sizes are always useful as well as hats, mitts and socks. Monetary donations are also well received as it lets them buy items which are needed but not always donated or they buy in bulk.  Like everyone else they are being hit by the rising price of food.  Please make cheques payable to St. Paul's Social Services.  Tax receipts will be issued directly by St. Paul's Social Services.  For the moment please do not donate containers as they are in discussions with the local Health Inspectors on their use.

Milk Bag Collection is Back.  The ladies are back to making mats.  Please bring in your milk bags and put them in the marked box in the Cloakroom.
